Milton’s Basketball team is coming off a 16-4 record-breaking winning streak and is looking very hot heading into the second half of the season. The Eagles have managed to rack up 15 double digit victories. In their three losses, the team only lost by single digits and played their opponents very close.

Milton is averaging 71 points per game, while they allow 64 points per game. The Eagles were able to take home key wins against Roswell (away), Kell (neutral), Madison East (home), and Lee (neutral). Milton has yet to lose a home or away basketball game, with all of their losses coming at high-profile neutral site games. The Eagles are currently ranked 9th in the state and 5th in 7A.

The main attraction around the program is Sophomore point guard Bruce Thornton. Thornton so far has multiple offers from top division one schools such as Kentucky, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Georgia, and he is currently a four star on 247 Sports. Another key player for Milton is Senior guard Evan Hurst. Hurst has been  great around the perimeter by knocking down threes and is an adept passer, but his defense is what sets him apart. Freshman sensation Kannan Carlyle has been doing it all for Milton and is quickly developing a reputation as one of the top freshman in the nation. Carlyle uses his speed to beat opponents to the basket and is great from beyond the three-point line as well. He currently has two offers from Clemson and Tulane.

What is Next to Come:

The Eagles are currently 16-4 (6-0 in region play) and looking to improve against South Forsyth (home and away), Lambert (away), West Forsyth (home) and North Forsyth (home). If Milton can win out the rest of their games and win the region championship, the Eagles could secure a number one seed heading into the state tournament.
